Evangelism uses many different methods to try to reach the greatest number of unbelievers. However, the work of an evangelist is never done, so it’s crucial to understand what is going on in the world, what people believe, where their efforts are needed most, and how they can make the biggest impact. World Evangelism Statistics

As of 2022, there are nearly 8 billion people in the world. Of those, about 6.8 billion identify with a religion, and around 2.3 billion are specifically Christian. However, that means there are still around 1.2 billion people worldwide who are not religious or have Atheist beliefs. These individuals are the unbelievers that evangelists are trying to reach with the gospel. 

It’s estimated that over 160 billion hours are spent evangelizing each year. Even though there are over 2 billion Christians around the world, many of them do not evangelize and actively spread the Word of God. That means even more time could be spent evangelizing and more people could be reached. In order to spread Jesus’s message to all unbelievers, it will take many more Christians evangelizing and following in Christ’s footsteps.
