The Importance of Sharing the Gospel with Children

The Importance of Sharing the Gospel with Children

Isaiah 54:13 — “All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children.”

Children are the future of the world, which is why it’s so important to help them grow, develop, and learn so they will be able to make the world a better place. Currently, there are around 2 billion children across the globe between the ages of 0 and 14, and one of the most important things we can do to help them is to share the Gospel with them. Here’s why:

  • The Gospel Teaches About God and Jesus - One of the reasons sharing the Gospel with children is so important is because it teaches them about God and Jesus. While kids may know of God and Jesus already—whether from school, church, books, or other media—they may not understand their true significance. Introducing children to the Gospel allows them to understand the gift God gave us in his only Son and the sacrifice Jesus made for us.

John 3:16 — “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

  • The Gospel Teaches About How to Treat Others - Another important lesson from the Gospel is how to treat others. This is especially relevant for children, who often face difficult situations while growing up—like bullying, exclusion, meeting others who are different from them, and more. By presenting the Gospel to children, you can help teach them to love others and treat everyone with respect, as they want to be treated.

Ephesians 4:32 — “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”

  • The Gospel Teaches About Respecting Your Parents - The Gospel also instructs children to respect their parents. This is meaningful because growing up involves many changes, and can often lead to difficult situations between children and their parents. However, the Gospel teaches children that God has commanded that they always respect and obey their parents.

Ephesians 6:1 — “Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord, for this is the right thing to do.”

One of the first ways children learn to do things is by imitating what they see others do. So, when sharing the Gospel with children, you can also teach them through your own actions. There are also various activities that can help teach the Gospel to children, like through games, arts and crafts, and more.

One of the best ways to share the Gospel with children is by using children’s Gospel tracts. These tracts offer a simple, entertaining Gospel presentation for children with powerful images that clearly show that Jesus is the Only Way to Eternal Salvation. Children’s Gospel tracts are also a great tool for children to use when telling other children about Jesus.
